Hello friends, family, and fans of literature, After hunkering down and writing the first half of 2019, I'm ready for a little rest and relaxation during the summer. (That being said, I do have two writer events planned—see the bottom of this letter.) Here are the highlights from the last few months: Great News! * * * * * During Spring Break I had an extraordinary experience with Rayma, my junior beta reader. Click here to read the blog post about this super special young lady!
* * * * * Over the course of my journey as a writer, I've realized that I enjoy having multiple projects going at one time. It's timely, since June 6th marked the 75th anniversary of D Day and the Allies push to liberate France.
* * * * * Over a long Memorial Weekend we visited Coronado, CA, with some of my family members. While there, I found a bit of "Unexpected Inspiration"—Click here to learn more!
* * * * * Finally, I have two major writer events I'll be attending this summer—it's so exciting! First, in July, I'll be staying in a cabin on Mt. Hood in Rhododendron, Oregon, with the members of my writer group: Willow Writers. This annual retreat is always productive—and so much fun!
Then in August, I'll be attending the SCBWI Summer Conference in Los Angeles. (The other end of the spectrum!) Whenever I'm lucky enough to attend this conference, it always serves as major inspiration for me.
