Greetings, Friends!

As summer comes to a close I hope you have new memories with family & friends safely tucked away. Here are a few of my memories from the summer of 2017:

In late June we spent a lazy day on the shores of the Molalla River.

Following the 4th of July holiday I traveled to Los Angeles, CA, to attend the SCBWI Summer Conference—it was fantastic!

It was a thrill to hear this year's Newbery Medalist, Kelly Barnhill!	Two more award-winning poet/authors: Sonya Sones & Kwame Alexander

I left L.A. with enough inspiration—and information—to last me for the remainder of the year!

When I arrived back home I was grateful to see my husband had watered my flowers!

The Words and Pictures Festival held in Vancouver, WA brought together numerous local authors & illustrators.

It was a great day of meeting other local authors, as well as readers!	Thanks to FVRL for hosting this grand event!

Also in July, I hosted a backyard write-out for my critique group—we had a blast.

These ladies are wonderful writers & fantastic friends!

Over a long Labor Day Weekend we concluded our summer by visiting the Olympic Peninsula and the San Juan Islands in Washington State.
